Janet Wilde. [/i][/font][/size]  [/center] Janey's a proper young lady of nineteen, living all on her ownsome in this grand city of London. Spontaneous, talkative, and a bit naive, she's still got a rather grand charm, thanks to her heart being in the right place and a genuine interest in people. If you're not one to blink, perhaps you remember her veddy brief career on stage as a chorus girl—yep, she was the one who only appeared in the tap numbers. After all, J.J.'s mother wanted a dancer, and a dancer she would have, even if the lass only expressed an interest in tap.
That all ended with Momma's death, bless her soul; these days, Janey makes her living as a singing telegram girl. That's right, she shows up at your door (possibly clad in an over the top costume) and sings and taps her way through a message from a loved one. It's a living, and just the sort of living this hardly serious girl can enjoy. Truthfully, Miss Jane would give anything to be a rock'n'rolla, just like her idol Buddy Holly, but 1963 isn't the year for female pop idols, sadly. No one wants to hear a girl say she's gonna love you too, or ask about Peggy Sue. Pity.
At present, Janet needs everyone and anyone. And I'd rather not dictate how others view her by giving you my interpretations of her friends, enemies, and lovers—so, if you're interested in partaking in some sort of relation with the girl, just post here and we'll have at it. Ta! |

Not sure how but perhaps Ellen and Janet are friends. Especially having the loss of a parent in common. Thoughts?

Oh, I can dig it! Ellen seems very sweet, with all those lovely grown up qualities Janet totally lacks. They would most likely know each other through Janet's after work visits to the record store, and I can see that after repeated meetings and shared musical tastes they become friends as opposed to simply partners in record transactions. Anyway, I love it—Dede can be Janey's responsible twin any day. |

Look out London!!! I think that sounds wonderful. I could absolutely see the two of them having a lark together, dancing about the record store after hours, visiting each other. That sort of thing. Brilliant!

If band camp was in the UK, then yes, absolutely. Seems like the sort of thing Janey could've talked her mother into sending her to when it was clear she wasn't much of a dancer. |

I have three lovely men that I'll throw your way:
Elvis & Janet--Since this thread title is based on one of the King's songs, I assume you'd be interested in doing something with him. He and his lovely girlfriend, Priscilla, will be making a trip to England soon. He has a meeting with the Beatles lined up. Therefore, they will have the chance to run into each other...Where, when, why, and how...I don't know. I'm sure we'll be able to cook something plausible up.
I also have Ringo and Will...I'm drawing blanks with those two but you can check out their shipping pages and let me know if anything comes to mind!

Haha, I'm glad you noticed. ^^ And Janey would be fookin' ecstatic to meet Elvis—she's always been more of a Buddy Holly girl, but she certainly adores and respects the King's output. Prolly goes to see all his movies, too, even though they're a bit rubbish. Anyway. Since Janet delivers messages for a living, perhaps she's sent to sing one to Mister Presley himself whilst he's in London? Something from the record company who handles Elvis's UK album productions, most likely, a sorta 'hope you're enjoying your stay!' thing. And then Janey can get some well meaning fangirling in. Thoughts?
Will and Janet
Since she spent a year or two moving in the theatre social circles, perhaps Janey could know Will? Respects him as an artist and a human being, and admires the fact he doesn't perform the sorta stage claptrap she was forced to dance in. If you're willing, maybe she could even have suspected his, ahem, 'sexually deviant behaviour' (you have a knack for picking up on such things if you spend all day with actors)? And they could meet up again now, and something about Will will confirm this suspicion, and...Janey will offer herself up as a fake girlfriend to help preserve his reputation. Whether or not Will bites is up to you.
Ringo and J.J.
Mister Starr's the shit, and I think he and Miss Wilde have similar personas. So when they meet (perhaps througn another singing telegram job), I can see them getting on, or Janey at least taking to him immediately.

Elvis & Janet--I love that idea!!!...And I feel terrible for not having anything else substantial to say except that Elvis is always willing to accommodate his fans!
Will & Janet--I think Will would always keep her offer on the table but I don't think he'd ever bite at it because Brian would give him so much grief for it. Then again, since she figured it out, he'll start to wonder how many other people have figured it out, and he'll probably end up having a mini-mental breakdown that someone will have to fix.
Ringo & Janet--I like that idea! I'm thinking the telegram could be from John and/or Paul as a sort of funny gag welcoming him into their band. And I see no reason why Janet and him won't get along splendidly.

Oh...decisions...decisions...I actually wouldn't mind getting Elvis over there right now. It can be his first night there so he hasn't had the the time to meet with anyone yet. The Will one I'd like to hold off on because later on Brian is going to start dragging him to some of the Beatles' recording sessions and, since those four lads know Brian is gay, they're not going to fall for their manager's excuse that Will is just an old 'friend.' So, after the Beatles figure it out, to have Janet figure it out as well will make Will even more paranoid. So, I guess that means the Ringo thread can go on ahead, since I've been playing sulking, doesn't-fit-in-yet Ringo and wouldn't mind getting him accepted as a Beatle sooner rather than later.
You may start both threads, if you'd like, or we can split them because I should have time to get up one later today. Just let me know!!!

Sounds great! I can start both of them, since the action won't really begin with Elvis/Janet or Ringo/J.J. until they open the door. At least one'll be up later today, but I've got to head downtown in a bit so I doubt I'll make much headway until then.
Oh, and poor paranoid Will...beards are always giggle worthy. :,D

So Mr. Dylan here is currently spending some time in England for the first time. And Ms. Janey here is most certainly a striking young lady; Bob would probably be instantly captivated by her, despite his on and off again relationship with Joan Baez. But never mind that, he doesn't strike me as the type to remain very faithful. In any case, what I'm getting at is that they should probably have some kind of a fling. A very short lived fling.
Perhaps she strayed into a local music club one night when he was performing (his entire motivation for traveling to England was to play a few gigs here and there and gain some international exposure). He sticks around for once after the set, they end up near each other at the bar and he offers to buy her a drink. Etc, etc.
She can either turn him down, accept his offer, or just laugh at him in his face. Either way, this could prove to be extremely entertaining.
